Getting an Insurance Plan as a Business Owner

Step-by-Step Guide for getting your Medical Insurance in order

How to get Medical Insurance

From the moment you are issued an Emirates ID, you must get a Medical Insurance plan for yourself (and in the case you sponsor someone - An employee or a family member - you’ll need to get them insurance coverage too).

Here are the steps to secure a compliant Insurance policy:

  • Define your yearly budget per person. The cheapest insurance in the UAE is about AED 1000 per year, but that gives you minimal coverage. If you want a more comprehensive coverage, be prepared to pay 3X to 5X that value.
  • Collect all Documents and information from the people you’re getting insurance from - In the next Section, there is a list of everything you will need for this step.
  • Reach out to a marketplace of Insurance providers, and leave them your number and email. They will reach out by calling you, or dropping you a whatsapp message.
  • They will ask you about your preferences and present you with different Insurance options. It is then up to you to make a choice on your preferred policy.
  • Submit all your documentation and make the payment via their website as agreed with the Agent that is supporting you.
  • Receive your official insurance policy via email a few days later, and have it activated so you can start using it.
