💡 How to set up your Home Utilities in Dubai

Follow these steps to set up your Home Utilities in your Dubai rental:
Step 1: Register your tenancy with EJARI
Once you have your new Home contract, you will need to register your tenancy agreement with EJARI. Once they have verified it, DEWA will create your account and email you the details
Step 2: Pay your refundable DEWA Deposit
Pay your DEWA Refundable Deposit to activate water and electricity in your home. The exact price may vary but it tends to be around AED 2,000 for a flat and AED 4,000 for a Villa.
Step 3: Pay the DEWA Connection Charges
This includes Installation Labour and any applicable Taxes of activating your water and electricity services. It tends to be around AED 135 in total, but may vary from case to case. After this, you will get your connection activated on the agreed date.

Documents you need to set up your Home Utilities

You will need a few things to set up your Home Utility Bills. Make sure to have all these documents in place ahead of your move-in date:
Emirates ID
You will need to have your physical Emirates ID to start the process of setting up your Home Utilities. In some instances, they may also ask for your VISA or details related to it.
Residence Details
This refers to your new home address, number and contract.
DEWA Premises Number
The DEWA Premise Number is a 9-digit number that is displayed at the entrance of each premise. You can use your DEWA account and premise number to view your bill online.
