📑 Requirements to bring your Dog or Cat to the UAE

You will need to meet these requirements to relocate your dog or cat to the UAE, as well as the required documentation indicated below.

Acquire an Import Permit

You will need to get an Import Permit through the MOCCAE web site. The validity of the permit is 30 days. It is not allowed to import pets with an expired import permit. The total cost is AED 450 for a Cat and AED 700 for a dog.

Apply for Permit

Ship your Pet according to IATA conditions

Pets must arrive as manifested air Cargo. Cats and dogs should be shipped according to IATA conditions for pet animal transport. This includes having a IATA approved crate and using an IATA approved carrier.

Identify your Pet with a permanent microchip

The cats and dogs must be identified with a permanent microchip, and the chip number in the health certificate must conform with the chip No. which is implanted in the animal.

📑 Documents you need to relocate your Dog or Cat

You will need all the following documents to complete the move of your pet:

Health Certificate

The animal must have obtained Authorized health certificate issued from the competent veterinary authorities.

Vaccination Document or Passport

Vaccination document or passport which must include the animal microchip number, animal full description (species - color - sex - date of birth) and fully meet all vaccinations required.

If coming from a High Risk Country

You will need a Rabies Testing certificate from a laboratory accredited by the competent authorities in the country of export.

Your pet must be vaccinated with the following in order to relocate to the UAE

For Dogs

‍✅ Rabies, a valid vaccination applied according to instruction of vaccine manufacturer, initial dose should not be applied before 12 weeks of animal age.
✅ Canine Distemper Virus (CDV)
✅ Canine Parvo Virus
✅ Infectious Canine Hepatitis
✅ Leptospirosis (Can be dispensed with and replaced by lab test in case that the exporting country does not apply vaccination)

✅ Rabies, a valid vaccination applied according to instruction of vaccine manufacturer, initial dose should not be applied before 12 weeks of animal age

✅ Feline Rhinotracheitis
