Some residents opt to also purchase Health Insurance, to access Healthcare Services faster in private clinics and hospitals.The public healthcare system in Spain covers all kinds of healthcare services, including general medicine, family practice, pediatrics, nursing, physical therapy and others. If you have an emergency, you can also visit the nearest public emergency room or “urgencias” to make sure you get seen by a doctor right away.
How do I access Public Healthcare?
To start booking Health Appointments and using the Public Healthcare System in Spain you will need to have a Public Healthcare card, also known as TSI (Tarjeta Sanitaria Individual), issued by your local Healthcare Office.
